Strip this deck

I am posting some pictures of the deck. I'm getting ready to strip this deck but wanted a little advice. I've ordered some HD-80 because I've read that a lot of you guys use that. I'm wondering if I should add some environmental anti-freeze to the mix to make sure I strip off the old stain? I've read some of the old threads where some do that to enhance the effects of HD-80. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I might get kicked around on this one but, Have you stripped any decks before?

HD-80 is a good product where you are able to mix it at whatever strength you need.

Personally I would not use anti-freeze with HD-80.

I am sure it is alot like Bourbon in your coffee in the morning.

Stick with the instructions on the jug of HD-80. It should serve you well.

I have heard of this, that you mention before vaguely around the bongfire.

I have also heard in the days of old, that kerosene or deisel fuel was used on wood to preserve it.

..... that's probably what caused the development of VOC regs.

I think the HD-80 will treat you fine.

Be sure to neutralize the wood with ox acid or citralic acid afterwards.

I've never truly "stripped" a deck and that's why I'm making sure I do it the right way. I've only cleaned the decks and stained before and I'll be honest, I did it the wrong way. I used the pressure of my PW. I know it's not good for the wood so I want to make sure I do it the correct way from now on. Thanks for the info Adrian.

Adding Propylene Glycol to HD80 will "boost" the performance. This is what is normally found in anti freeze.

That's acrylic. You may need it but I would try without it first.

Thanks Scott. I actually ordered the HD-80 from your store. I had read about using the anti-freeze on a thread from the grime scene. I guess I'll try it without the Propylene Glycol but if I need something stronger, I'll add it.

It's a friend of mine and he thought he was going to have to stay with a dark color. I told him that I could strip off the old stain (maybe) but I wanted to try a new stripper. I know this is the best place to find great information.

HD 80 is a great product, I use it all the time. It'll strip the deck but also strip the landscape. Water, Water, Water!

Asphalt? Bad news, hd-80 will harm it. Pre-wet and rinse regularly.

Concrete, no problems.
