0 Oxfordlawn 14 Report post Posted December 20, 2009 wow! so where do the towns and cities put all that snow?? Ya have to run out of places to pile it up right??
0 PressurePros 249 Report post Posted December 20, 2009 Tom, we can handle a 20" storm (they are rare). If we were to get another large storm or two before this one melted, I think they dump the snow into the river.
0 Oxfordlawn 14 Report post Posted December 20, 2009 (edited) wait..so its ok to dump tons of salty dirty snow laced with liquid calcium chlorite( or something like that) into the river...but if you get a little soapy water into the storm drain system from a botched reclaim water setup...you pay thousands and thousands of dollars EPA fines. amazing LOL Edited December 20, 2009 by Oxfordlawn

0 Beth n Rod 1,279 Report post Posted December 20, 2009 We got slammed. Still getting a few light flurries this morning. Last night around 7pm it measured 20" here. I'm pretty sure we topped off at about 22". I've lived in Maryland all my life and it seems like we get one of these about every 7 years, but normally it is not until January or February. I have never seen this much snow the week before Christmas in Maryland. Beth :cup:
0 John Orr 206 Report post Posted December 20, 2009 We got about 1/8" of snow last night! WooHoo! Milk and bread are selling-out fast! May declare a state of emergency...call out the National Guard.

My friend owns a rather large trucking company and used to remove snow from the Ingleside Mall (a huge mall) and dump the snow into the CT. river. When the EPA said "no more" that's when he gave up the contract. I don't know what happens to the snow now.

It can and will change the rules at random to suit its needs. Your point is 100% accurate.
0 C&S Property Services 24 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 Thats funny though, I was watching the Ravens foosball game today and they said they removed 21000 lbs of snow from the stadium. The announcer said they dumped it in local rivers....LOL
