Best Three Guys in Wood Restoration in the Industry

Question

I'm not starting this Thread to have conflict or arguments.

I need to know who You think the best three contractor are.

Please do not include yourself, if you want to remain private PM me.

If you can't come up with three please list who ever.

Be respectful to everyones choices.

If the person is not here on this BBS thats ok, please however include a Facebook or Email if I should need to contact.

Yes it has something to do with promotion and story. If you list someone expect that you might get a call about why you selected them.

Thanks for all your help, TGS is the place for Wood restoration Specialist.

Thanks Rick , its no Order for sure. Nothing in this is about who's Number 1

I appreciate your response

1. Diamond Jim Foley in Ct.

2. Beth & Rod Borrego in Md.

3. Shane from WoodSavers in Tx.

In no particular order. All are true pro's in this business.

Anyone who has the guts to make a successful business with 100% wood (NOTHING ELSE) is a pro in my book. There are very very few of those around.

Charlie a lot of truth there, I think if I hired someone for my place I would want a guy who specialized for sure. Then again Jim is one of the Best an he Does many things.

I think you off track on this, actually the highest compliment someone can get would be from there peers. No one is asking for judgement.

Is there anyone whom you look up to in this business, it doesn't need to be three, as I said its not a contest of who's better. Its just some help as to a place to start. I'm not Clear if you wanted to Say Beth & RoD or Roger & Celeste?

Ahh, sorry Ron. I wouldn't want to say anyone, because I honestly don't know that many in the wood trade. There are probably 10 or 15 I would put on the same level from my years of reading here.

I simply can't judge or put some people on a pedestal above others, and I can't trash anyone either, I'd rather remain neutral. I was simply nodding to the women who work along side their men in this business.

Kick some butt at whatever you're up to. I hope you get the information you need from others.

I perceive my fellow contractors regonition as the highest complement, if you do not want to publicly say please just text or email me. Pm me here if thats easy, your recommendations are private an as I said before there's now vote or anything. Now if you don't see someone you thought should be mentioned on the final list that would actually not be justice? Its not really judgement, who would you hire to do your place if you needed it?

Ron,

Lyle is a member here, his profile and info is listed here: http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/members/acegot/

I'm wrong, he is not domiciled in Berkeley. That was another Ca. wood guy.

My mistake, I'm going to have to double check the ones emailed. Some just names , I may post them all here at the end?

Just reread thread...... no one mentioned Pete M from SB.

I learned alot from him back in the day at his lunch box meetings in Lawrenceville.

Not to forget his sidekick Tracy H.

Both vets from early on who helped alot of us get where we are today.

Wood sucks man anyways,....... why am I posting here? I hate wood. lol.

I'll love it again in about 5 minutes.

I had many many phone calls about this but you guys are right !!!! I do not know know anyone else who will try to correct a wood issue more than me.

Shane may run a close second with you Jim. He carries toilet paper with him, he is so anal about wood.

start.... to what though? No one has mentioned that wood resto in the south can be much different from the north.

Jim or Rick or Beth Or Rod may find that they do not have to do resto the exact same way down here because of climate issues.

vice versa for us south holes.

just saying....... geo and climate are issues always going to be a variable in determining "best" status. Thats why I think qualified and capable are more operative.

This is not an easy facet of the industry, we somehow make it look as if it is because many of us have over a hundred miles of wood resto.

Is Eddie Van Halen the best? or Joe Satriani? or Steve Vai, Or Chet Atkins, or Roy Clark, or Dave Mustaine, or john petrucci, or eric johnson or John5.

Hard call really....

I think you have good info for a new directory though..... he he he.

My links at the bottom.

Didn't come up with a number one Adrian , as I said from the start no contest. This will actually be a top list. Have not decided to include all or only those who got two or more recommendation by peers.

Will see what the committee formed for co-op promotion says about it.

Thanks for being involved.

Adrian,

Did you forget Eric Clapton or Stevie Ray Vaughn (RIP)? Might as well throw B.B. King into the mix also! Hah!
