Do you cover your burner stacks when not in use?

For years I never did and I had all kinds of problems not doing that. From leaves falling into the stacks to continuous rain pouring in their I had many problems with past burners so now we cover them when not in use. The drawback is a couple of times the guys used the burners and realize a few minutes later the stack covers were still on--my luck.. But they still get covered all the time when not in use.

Do you guys have stack caps for your burners?

I'm lucky to have mine an enclosed trailer. Rain as well other factors is why I prefer an enclosed vs. open trailer.

I like enclosed trailers as well and did have at one time a Landa hot water skid inside of one. Once I started doing Parking garages a few yrs back it was no longer an option for me to have my burners in an enclosed trailer since height is an issue in the garages.

Mine are covered with E-250 vans. They keep the burners clean and the douchebags out.

At one time I was going to put a cover on my duct. I was thinking something like a tractor exhaust pipe cover. I was going to hinge the cover at the front, then if I did not close the thing, the wind would blow the cover closed. I never had the time to do that minor project.

I put a bucket lid and a small sandbag on at home to keep the junk and rain out. I use an 8" elbow on certain jobs when parking under trees or sprinklers is unavoidable.

I was considering putting a truck mount skid for emergencies and for garage cleaning, cause John your right height is a huge factor when cleaning garages.
