Bush is soaking the rich!

Question

new data from the US Treasury. In 2005 the 'richest 1 %" in this country paid 39.5% of all the income taxes in collected.

The richest 5% paid almost 60% and the richest 10% paid over 70%!

Now for comparison, the richest 1% is defined as those earning over $350,000. The richest 1% earned 22.7% of all income earned.

Wait, did I just hear that they make 22.7% of the income but pay 40% of all the income taxes? Surley that cant be right! Bush gave them all a huge tax cut, didn't he?

The top 5% earn around $175,000

Want to know how much the lowest 50% pay in income taxes. this is everyone below the median income level of $50,000. A whopping 3%!!!

I thought Bush was screwing the poor. Giving all the tax cuts to the rich. The rich pay more tax now than ever before!

want to see the economy die? Take away the tax cuts for the rich!

There is a lot more talk of recession going on in the media. The middle class is hurting Cost of food Gas Utilities have jumped compared to incomes. Its got to be hard when your already living outside your means.

If the people with all the power (the rich business owners) paid the poor and middle class what they were worth the poor and middle class could pay more in taxes. Everyone who works in america deserves, at minimum a living wage. I'd put that at $25 bucks an hour in some parts of the country. Maybe more. I was a Draftsman. With the advent of Autocad software I was able to do twenty times the workload. Where was my raise? I had to educate myself with student loans on my own dime just to stay relevant. But my wages did not increase much with the gained knowledge and gained productivity. This country should get back to being unionized like the old days. Back when women could stay home and raise a family(if they choose to). Like it was back in the day when one wage earner could support a middle class family. When the middle class had some power in numbers through organized labor. I wouldn't worry too much about the 1%. When the middle class becomes the poor and have nothing, you can kiss this country goodbye. Thats when the 1% might wake up to what their greed has created and all the jobs are overseas.........Whomever holds the power holds the money. And whomever holds the money holds the power. And whomever holds both will decides the fate of others less powerful.....Oh ya, take a look at this country's defense budget. It's sickening......Ahh, that felt good......

Rich people don't have 'salaries', jon. Their wealth is hidden behind loopholes like you couldn't believe - if you think the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes - you're either stupid, naive, or both. Bring it on Hillary - bring back the taxation! I had a good salary under democratic administrations - I'd rather be paying out high taxes from a good paying job under a democratic administraton - then a republican one, that rolls back taxes, and simultaneously I go from making 85 g's per year with all the benefits - to making 'starbucks' salary, paying for my own health insurance and what not out of my own albeit shrinking pocket - Jon, you really **** me off. You You You You - Republican! Oh yeah Jon - I am part of that 50% poorest people, thanks alot to jerks like you that voted that idiot in. Thanks for 7 years of crappy economy - I appreciate it very much. I'd probably be making 100+ g's now still doing UNIX Admin Tech - if Al Gore had one - oh, yeah - forgot - he did win. Man - don't ever remember paying out $$$ every week in advertizing to maintain my employment - or reinvestment in equipment, other than my car, to maintain my weekly check. Or worrying about yearly unemployment around winter time. ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH.

Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use.....

The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants!

That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down.....

Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the Border....

When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq .

Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military.....

Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.....

After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country......

He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot......

This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves......

If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo.....

Problem solved.....

Cry me a flipping river. You own a business now. Do you pay your help a living wage? If the rich business men dont have salaries and hide their income, how do they end up paying such a high percentage in taxes.

if the unions did such good why did the rich keep getting richer. Tax em more! then they put more of you whining little union babies out of jobs instead of hiring more workers. the rich are the ones who hire the workers. the rich are the ones who invest in factories that hire you idiot unionites, so they can invest in more factories with thier profits.

If your smart enough to re-educate yourself, your smart enough to find a rich investor and open your own shop. Actually I guess not. YOull always think like an employee with that attidute.

Jeff, how many people do you employ and pay wages to? you didnt do that when you were in your last life did you? Your on the right track and as you become more and more successful you are seeing the light.

LOL! Most of the "rich" Jon was referring to, the top 1%, are working folks...they just make a heck of a lot more than you and I, because they developed talents and abilities and had drive that apparently you and I didn't bother to develop. You think Bush is to blame because you're not making $85G's? LOL Whine whine whine. You want to be a business owner, be a business owner. You want to be an employee, go find a job. Yeah, It's Bush's fault you lost your job...Right.

It's been a pretty damned good 7 years for me....maybe you just need to develop a different skill set and stop whining about it.

I wonder if the Rich people I mean the Ultra rich The ones who dont pay taxes because all their money is in foundations and trusts. And politicians have discussions like this.

In the late seventies my Dad made 350 per week. When I was still"employed" my employer spent at least one hour a month convincing me 375 a week was good money. Also The income tax is a illegal tax that goes to pay the interest to the Federal Reserve Which is private bank not a federal anything except in name. The people that own it dont pay taxes either. I will vote for Ron Paul if he gets the nomination otherwise I didnt do too bad under Clinton Except for stupid Gun Laws So it is a trade off

Ever wonder why It keeps getting worse no matter who is in office. Id say they are all pretty buddy buddy.

dude...you can't be serious....blame the republicans because your poor! what a cop out. and then you get personal like all liberals and other malcontents who have to blame others for their problems without looking at themselves - give me a break!!! whining gets you know where.

the problem with this country is greed, both corporate and unions. nobody has a right to dictate a wage...the market should decide this. and if you don't like that plainpainter, then go do something else and quit blaming others for your position. you really show your mentalilty when you start name-calling.

and al gore ( the big liar who said he invented the internet ) and the father of another great lie ( global warming ) did not win the election....but once again bitter people who are sore losers like you will hold on to whatever you can and blame everyone else for the worlds ills.

wa wa wa!:lgtear:

get over your bitterness and move on

Plainpainter...Good job. You called it like you saw it on the labor issue and I agree with you. It's hillarious to sit back and listen to the predictable attacks from the certain few. I wouldn't use the word stupid to describe someone though. Thats a bit much. Naive would have sufficed......Heres an interesting tidbit: There are NO black Repulicans in the house or senate (41-0)....Also:2/3 of all women in the house and senate are Democrats......What could this possibly mean?......Any good Republican ideas why this is?

When the water gets low, the rocks will show.

I'm not saying I've enjoyed this thread but it's certainly been amusing. Talking politics is like trying to push zhit up hill with a pointed stick.

I'll stick to looking for loop holes while I push my business onward. Certain people will make money, no matter who's in power, or the state the economy is in. IMO it's a matter paying attention to where there's a hole or gap I can fit in, and use to my advantage.. And to say that is selfish would be silly. As long as what you do is not underhanded. Do it.

And now back to the debate.

Socialism, some on the right say it often about the Dems, What are we going to turn into the USSR. They been using this crap for years, their own republican party is pretty much the same as the dems or vise versa

Its all to funny

Hillary for prez, just so the republicans have a sh*t for themselves

I keep hearing the republicans saying they hope Hillary is the nominee, so they can gather their base and win, they better stop hoping, because Hillary is going to win. Why, because the majority of America wants something totally different than we have had for over the past 6 year

The Republicans are going to put Hillary right in the WHITEHOUSE.... Now aint that a b*tch

When the white man came to America,

There were no taxes,

Women did all the work,

All men did was hunt and fish.

The white man thought he brought a new, improved system.

Good Points! But we now have great casino's
