Ah oh...Sunday nite there going to show these tombs of Jesus, Mary Magedon(His supposed wife), There child along with Joseph and Mother Mary. Oh boy this is going to spark off some serious debates. James Cameron(Titanic) is either very brave like Mel Gibson was with his reiligious flick...or he's very stupid. Fanatics kill over there beliefs. I bet whether he's right or wrong James Cameron will probably wish he never did get involved in this never ending religions belief systems that are in place.

Should be an interesting fall out from this show...which I probably won't watch because thats the night for "Desperate Housewives"...

There are a few problems with his "discovery" First, Jesus was a very common name at that time. I think it was 5th most common. Mary was the most common female name. 20% of women were named Mary or some form of Mary. Joseph was themost common name. Mary Magdalene and Mary magadon would be different people. The Ossuary was not fitting of a person that people would hole in high regard, and there were enough people at that time that held Jesus in high regard for him to have a nice ossuary, if indeed he did not ressurrect. (BTW, I am of the opinion that he did, so no bones here) Lastly, it was found in Jerusalem. Jesus was a nazarene from Galilee, enough of a distance away for it not to make sense for him to be buried in Jerusalem.

Personally, I think it is another attempt of someone to get people falling all over themselves to think something happened to disprove the bible and the bible history as it is written.

They also fail to mention that this tomb was "discovered" 27 years ago in 1980. A few years ago there was a burial box found with the inscription, James brother of Jesus. It was later labeled as a hoax. Gues who discovered the tomb of Jesus. The same guy who discovered the fake James burial box.

The pursuit of the truth is not anti-Christian. If what one finds damages Christianity, that does not make the pursuit anti-Christian. Similarly, if what you find supports Christianity that does not make it "pro Christian". The truth is just the truth..

True or not, unearthing the tomb of Christ's family is a BIG story. If it does not contain his body, that is big news. If it does contain his body, that is big news. People said very similar things about the dead sea scrolls. In fact, they were suppressed for years because the Christians were afraid it would prove his mortality, and Jews were afraid it would prove his divinity...

I agree the pursuit of truth is fine no matter where it leads. My point is that this discovery is not what it is being hyped up to be. It is a nearly three decade old find that has previously been documented by scholars with much higher credentials that James Cameron. This is being promoted by people with an agenda that is anti-christian. They don't want to know the truth. They want to discredit Christianity by lies, deception and half truths. It amazes me that some people who claim they do not believe in Jesus will work so hard to try and discredit him. If there was no Christ or he wasn't who he said he was then why all the fuss? Do they get as upset when someone mentions Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny?

The problem is that many aren't seeking the truth, they are seeking to promote their anti-Christian agenda. I fully believe if some of these people found irrefutable proof that Jesus was and is who the bible says he is, they'd hide it.

There is a great amount of controversy in it. The movie didn't do it enough justice though.

The previous book "Angels & Demons" will rock the faith.

I have the book...just been to busy with other things...Maybe I need to set a goal...read a chapter a week maybe.

The Movie was nothing to right home about. One of those type of movies that you can just tell that they couldn't get the story in correctly within the length of the movie which made it kind of all over the place. I heard the book is some read and is one of the biggest sellers worldwide.

Nope, haven't and will not read the book nor watch the movie. I have heard enough from those who have that I have no interest. I wouldn't read a book that was written in an insulting manner about my wife or my parents, and I won't read a book or watch a movie whose goal is to call my God a liar.
