JL's new ride

Question

Well I went out to be practical and buy a work truck, so I could get out of driving my 98 Marquis. well I opted for something a little pretty to drive instead. I'm really liking cruising in it, has some nice and some cool options, I think it will be a couple years before this is a work truck

I'm not doing much to it, adding Line X to bed, A low profile tool box and I put a new grill insert on it, chrome where the black is, looks cool, just ordered some nice seat covers too. Plus I like the crew cab, take the whole family in it, my son wanted black, my wife wanted Chevy, I just wanted out of the Marquis LOL

Some good rebates on trucks out there now

In California, My neighbor has a 2007 Ford International V-8 Diesel of which he bought brand new. Engine blew up also... twice, then the valves just after the 100k warranty, then the fuel pump and finally at 119,000 miles the torque converter in the transmission. Ford paid 1/2 of the trany work since he was just out of warranty at 119k. And the odd thing is that he only tows a 4,000 lbs trailer part time. Most are highway miles.

I like the looks of a Ford, I really do. I was looking at the F 750 which does have the Dodge Diesel Cummings in them as an option. Great Trucks !

Congrats on the new truck Jeff.

I also like how you had the guys rinse it down when you pulled up on the job:).

My truck is only dirty during hunting season (Oct.-Jan).:D

Cummins is the manufacturer of the diesel engine Dodge uses. The engine used in the medium duty fords, and in the dodge pickups has a lot of different programming in them.

You are correct, my reference to the motor was that the block and heads are the same, the turbo's are different and the trucks are timed to that turbo that they use.

However, if you was to open the hood of the Ford F-650/ F-750 and the Dodge 2500/ 3500 Cummings, the engines, with the exception of the turbo's, look identical. The have the same Block and Heads.

I am sorry, I assume that people understand what I am talking about. I should be more detailed.
