Here's another interesting site....I followed this site pretty closely for the 2000 and 2004 elections

Electoral-vote.com: President, Senate, House Updated Daily

The guy is pretty liberal so a lot of commentary is skewed that way, but I believe he stays true to the combined polls.

You do realize, of course, that Liberals were the ones that fought tooth and nail against civil rights, don't you? Maybe you remember that it was a liberal that enabled the policies of the great depression and then successfully tacked it onto Hoover, a mere year and 9 months after he was in office? (remember that economic policies have always taken a year or two to trickle down) That Liberals are the ones that did not want to defend us against the attack from Japan, but, would rather talk as the bombs were dropping? Or were also the ones that got us into Korea, and ramped up Vietnam? They also are the ones that let the original bombing at the world trade center slide? Or that it was a liberal that had hostages held in a third rate country for over a year? Maybe you might remember that it was a liberal that had our interest rates at 21% with unemployment at over 10%, a mere 28 years ago? Maybe you might remember that it was a liberal that also dismantled our on the ground intel forces in favor of satellites and wire taps, (which by the way, the Liberals will no longer allow) Maybe you recall that a liberal was the grand dragon of his local KKK? Perhaps you did not know that per capita, conservatives contribute more of their personal funds to charities than liberals, by a wide margin? Maybe you also did not realize, that the evil rich in congress, the wealthiest of the wealthy, are mostly Liberal? Or that a liberal was in charge when the lending restrictions were lifted that put us in our current mess?

All that being said, There is a place in government for both parties. That is another part of the checks and balances that are so predominant in politics. The problem comes when one party, or the other, refuses to mediate, and take an unworkable idea and make it workable.

I think Obama and Biden are both jokes!!!!!! Obama is a TRUE socialist pig...

I would never vote Democrat.. Cause I would never support higher taxes to be patriotic,

I would NEVER NEVER support any types of abortion especially partial birth! I would never agree with gay marriage... I dont care about the polar bears we need some more oil.. I want to keep my guns...these are just a VERY few reasons I would never vote Democrat!!! If you are thinking of voting for Obama you are supporting Gays, Higher taxes, Killing babies, Terrorist, (you could be supporting the Rapist or the Murderer that could attack one of your friends or family members, Drug Dealer selling to one of your friends or family members How would you be supporting them you ask? Democrats appoints pansy azz judges!) If you vote Democrat even you dont agree with all these things listed above, you are voting this way wanting "CHANGE" you are still guilty of supporting it!!!!!! There is no middle ground!!! VOTE CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN !!!!! where is Reagan when we need him!!!!

Election woes defined by prose…..” by Jerry Molen

We just experienced an over hyped, positively outrageous primary election season that has left me cold and wondering where the heads of our citizens are hiding out. Must be someplace where the sun doesn’t get to very often.

At one time in my life I was a determined, dedicated and ever loyal registered Democrat. Then something happened (Lyndon Baines Johnson) that turned my life around and gave me much pause as to the veracity of a party that dwelt on and fed off of the most unfortunate among us. Some of those unfortunates were in their positions in life by way of their own choosing and others were there by circumstance. But always, always with a door open to them to reach for new heights, achieve new goals, change their lives for the better. And also, always ever present were the bottom feeders doing everything they could to take advantage of those who had not or have not seen the light of better days and times nor realizing they were in fact the masters of their own destiny. They had come to believe that they were dependent on those in power in Washington and that they would look out for them and take care of their every need. They are still waiting and expecting al those promised freebies.

Most people aren’t even aware that the Democrats ruled Washington for over 40 years. It wasn’t until 1994 when the so called Gingrich Revolution changed that for a short period of time. Nor do people realize that it was the Dem’s that created the failed policies of the many entitlement programs that are falling apart right before our eyes. Please do not think I find the Republicans blameless in all this. They too, suffer from ego inflation and greed motivators built into the system. It’s just that the past few months I’ve listened to the rantings and railings of the left in America calling for more giveaways and better ways to obtain the proverbial ‘free lunch’.

I think that to sum up my feelings and why I am so set apart from those within the circles of political power and influence can be illustrated best by a quote by noted basketball legend and talk show co-host Charles Barkley:

“Poor people have been voting for Democrats for the last fifty years….and they are still poor”.

And now with the election results comes the promises of “change”. “Change we can believe in.” “Change for the future”. When in fact if you really, I mean REALLY listen to what the new messiah is asking for is not ‘change of policy’ or ‘change for the better’. He is warning all of us that he wants our change all right, ‘loose change’, pocket change’, social change and political change……So people wake up. For if you don’t the change you get may not be the change you were expecting or the change you wanted.

To close my screed, I want to leave you with some JM predictions in the event the junior Senator from Illinois becomes President and especially if the House and Senate are veto proof.

1). Strict new gun laws will be enacted even though he promised he would not.

2). The phrase “In God We Trust” will be removed from all currency.

3). He will back away from his pledge to Israel and leave them to the wolves of Islam.

4). Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court.

5). Tax rates will return to their highest levels in 30 years.

6). The capital gains tax will be at least double current levels.

7). Retired Army General Wesley Clark will be named Secretary of Defense.

8). The borders will be ‘basically open’ to all comers. Especially those from the Middle East and South America.

9). Amnesty will be granted to all illegals now in the U.S regardless of status or even gang members (MS-13).

and

10). The war in Iraq will be brought to an abrupt end and the results will be tragic and the consequences to our military will be devastating.

I realize that my predictions may not sit too well with some people and the best we could all hope for is that I am totally wrong. Any bets?

Get the FACTS. Also MANY republican voted the SAME WAY due to a law already being on the books about life saving measures. There was no need for the vote at all was the point of those who voted.

Spent a bit of time watching reporters from around the globe gauging the popular opinion of what is going on here in America as they are affected as well.

It is pretty interesting to find that overall, McCain is not the person they feel best qualified for the job and many think he is to old and set in the old ways which up to this point have produced what we all endure each day.

How global viewers saw the McCain-Obama battle - CNN.com

The British who contended that Americans made a major mistake re-electing Bush feel we are finally showing some sense in switching away from the republican party majority which hasn't happened in over 40 years...that was around the time of Nixon (Rep) and his infamous economic blunders which sent the economy into a recession.

Its interesting to watch.

The British...major mistake re-electing Bush feel we are finally showing some sense...sent the economy into a recession.

This is precisely the problem. In addition to the Brits, the LA Times, Chicago Tribune, San Fran Chronicle, etc, have endorsed Obama. All of this in itself ought to give you pause. You could spend your time much more wisely than "watching reporters...popular opinion". One must brainwash himself to believe he/she is oppressed and a victim of recession. Folks, neither McCain nor Obama is going to fix your life. You need to reach for your own bootstraps. Forget self-interest for a moment and divest yourself of this 'sheep' mentality in which the media is allowed to cloud your judgment. The Brits have essentially been disarmed and are in utter chaos - exactly where we could be heading in the not-so-distant future if Obama is allowed to have sway. If it were not for some former administrations (including G W Bush) we would not be reading posts in English. Think for yourself. If you have already mailed your ballot in favor of Obama then it is irrevocable - you are part of the problem. All one can do now is voice strong support for McCain and hope for the best. Probably we will lose the fight, but at least we can go down swinging and retain our integrity rather than capitulate to the 'media'.

Also, I love how Powell contradicts himself. He says we need a new set of eyes...and McCain would just support the republican agenda...then about 3 minutes into the video he says how wonderful it's working.

I'm beginning to think that he's supporting him just because he's black.... His logic sure doesn't make any sense.

HOLY CRAP!!! then 5 minutes into the video he says that Obama's link to a known terrorist (Bill Ayers) is a trivial issue.... Mr. Powell, sir, you are a ***********!!!

Bill Ayers blew up govn't buildings, killed police officers and it's trivial....what a POS!

I always look to Britain for what should happen in the US, because they are always concerned about US interests, or not. They could still bear a bit of resentment from a couple of wars that happened a couple of hundred years ago.

Yes 'already being on the books' is often time the best way to vote on many a thing regardless of party affiliation. Is my understanding the reason of why the abortion folk or prolifers vote one way or the other is cause their existing gains may be twarted. I heard in this case the supposed reasoning for the no vote relates to the legislation in question not including protections or life saving measures for the mother as well during the failed partial birth abortions...which is bs if yer main stance is that of an anti-lifer/abortion advocate. How I heard it the procedure entails something like turning the baby to the legs first position, partial birthing of it, and then killing it in the head before full birth. Whatever reasoning behind the way the vote went it's all bs.
