I am with Bob Gates on Kansas City! Its in the heartland with lots to do and the weather is not that bad! Of course I am basically in Omaha, Nebraska so its rather comperable to me.

Next maybe Vegas as I have been wanting to go there and then Chicago has an appeal to it!

Beth could you throw a poll on here with a list of cities and have everyone vote?

I'd be willing to help out a bit if needed.

I think the key is ... if its too far to drive, how much to fly? Chicago, Atlanta are great hubs with low fares from just about everywhere. Will most of us not spend the money on airfare? If so, then Atlanta would probably work best.

When? For me, August is probably the best time. I am usually a little slower in Aug. I slow down in Feb too, but finances are better in Aug.

Maybe everyone should start thinking of whats best for the masses instead of just thinking of whats the most convienent for themselves.

This is a good idea. think in terms of cheap airfair.

You can usaully get cheap flights to Vegas, not sure about the cost for a place to meet at though.

I think Atlanta would be best. But I like the thought of Myrtle Beach (GOLF) free chemical for longest drive!

As far as time of year I like the cold months best.

John T. had a great idea, and for whatever reason he deleted it today. It was a great idea, and had many positive responses. It would be awesome to see it happen.

The gist of it was to get all the folks from various BBS's together and also the PWNA. A mammoth round table!

I can fully understand why the PWNA might not have liked the post, although I do not know one way or the other, more of a guess since the idea is gone. But, we all read it, we know what the concept is, and we can make it happen ourselves.

I hope John does too, but if he doesn't I do want him to know he is still VERY VERY VERY welcome here, regardless of his decision to pull the idea. I'm sure he had good reason.

Whats wrong with these people? Are they interested in having an exclusive club in a tree house like children, or promoting their org and recruiting new members? That does it, I will say this and never make another statement regarding this so called Professional Organization, I will never now or in future entertain the idea of joining the PWNA, and further more, from what I have seen lately, I would frankly be embarresed to proclaim a membership. Good luck to ya Power Washers Of North America. :rolleyes2

Everybody sounds like a bunch of kids. Look when someone throws together a round table all we need to know is one big city YES or NO. If it overweighs it with yes it happens if no then it doesn't. If people care enough they will show. I guarantee you will have a big turnout.

Most people here have a family with kids. We could have it in Orlando Right next to universal studios and a hop and a skip from disney.

We could do it in Vegas, but unless your kids enjoy watching mommy and daddy gamble all day, it doesn't sound fun.

We can go to new york that way we will never run out of a city to clean :)

Or we can go to california where we can still have disney land and worry about junky trunks and funky town rap group robbing us. :)

Just my two cents. I do know i will not be showing up to a mid-state to be bored for a few days.

Hey everyone,

Since there is no information, we should not make assumptions. Lets proceed based on facts.

I think this was an excellent idea. It is a great way to create unity in the industry. A vendor was even willing to contribute to the sponsorship of the event.

There was an opportunity for all to benefit and pwna would have benefitted right along with it. The concept I think was favorable if based on neutral ground which is how the round tables originally came into being and is why they are popular today. John took it to a larger scale. Proceeds from this type of an event could have been divided up between the various contributors after the costs of the meeting were paid. (<--just an idea) Pwna could have made money on it too.

It is a great way to bridge the gap and give people the opportunity to see in mass what a convention is like and they in turn may have even wanted to either go to the next one as well or possibly even join the pwna. There are a world of possibilities.

Many people have contributed ideas to this thread and the response has been overwhelmingly positive with the exception of where to have it. (cant please everyone I guess...) Meanwhile, I for one hope that for what ever reason this idea was taken away from TGS members to participate in could be changed. It would not detract from the current convention because it would most likely involve many who cannot afford to go or are not able to during the time slot as it stands. The world meeting would have been more affordable to many people and could have been a platform for creating awareness of the pwna.

I think we should find a way to move forward with this.

I do know i will not be showing up to a mid-state to be bored for a few days.

Hey I understand the thought of the heartland is not as appealing as Orlando but Kansas City has a lot to offer! They have a Nascar track, 2 amusment parks that are side by side: Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun, (so that would take care of kids) it also offers some good food and some Casinos if anyone is up for that. Its not too far from the lake of the Ozarks which is just beautiful country. Trust me I grew up in Colorado and moved here in 1992 and that just what I thought. My personal thought is that for a few days how could you get bored no matter where it is if its planned right! Not trying to start anything just defending my little corner of the world HA HA. Im game for where ever it is.

Heck you know what lets just make it a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas or somewhere! Im done now:zipit:

I agree Rod. Yes, I think this is a great idea and who knows...maybe the PWNA will come around. Instead of figuring out where this will be maybe we should work on how this meeting will be structured and the many different panels/topics it should cover.

I think Beth asked/mentioned early on in this thread for volunteers...count me in. Let me know where I can help.

sorry if i affended any of you, that was by far not my intentions. I was just stating a fact that most round tables are set up by just taking the initiative to say this is where its going to be, this is the time it starts, be there or be square.:) I understand that some can't and won't make it, and some won't be happy unless its in a place they desire most. Over all everyone who wants to attend would have to sacrifice their time. like the state or not:) Once again sorry, my message wasn't intended to tick anyone off.

Thank you for explaining...it takes the tension out.

There is no way to make everyone happy, and the round tables are held in the locality of the people who host them. Like Beth and I do one in the DC area and hold it in germantown md. Others hold them in NJ., OH., etc...

For a major one, we should try to be as fair as possible and centralize it. its a one day event and people can make their plans accordingly.

To be fair, it is a good idea to take a consensus and gain feedback, this is important because it invites participation.

Thank you for participating here.

John T had a good idea and its to bad it was deleted. He hasent been back to post since then and his insight is missed. It's to bad that sometimes things happen the way they do.
